Goodie Boxes

The members of Chapter 745 Almont, North Dakota are dedicated to making the Almont community a better place for everyone who lives there. To bring cheer to some of their neighbors in need, Chapter 745 members collected donations of treats and necessities and then spent a few hours packing Goodie Boxes. Chapter members delivered the gifts as they visited with the elderly and shut-ins, bringing warmth and friendship during the holiday season.

Members of Chapter 817, Je T'aime", Southfield, Michigan helped to provide needed support to local families who rely on shelters and social services in the metro Detroit area. With toys and other items donated by UAW representatives, Chapter 817 members stuffed bags and wrapped gifts for a festive Christmas party held at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Detroit. By the end of the event, everyone was filled with the spirit of Christmas and hope for better days to come in the New Year.

Through the Good Samaritan Network of Hamilton County, members of Chapter 611, "Cocktails for Causes", Indianapolis, Indiana learned how they could help make the holidays brighter for several families in need. Utilizing funds from their chapter treasury, members shopped for food to help five local families enjoy a holiday meal. Once the groceries were divided up, chapter members made special deliveries to share some Christmas joy with each of the families.


Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity

Chapter 806 Port Huron, Michigan had a lot of fun selling Younkers Community Day Coupons, and their efforts were well rewarded. Members sold more than 100 books to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity. The $1,040 they raised, with matching funds, will make a positive difference in the lives of people in need of decent affordable housing in the St. Clair County community.


Postive Impact

Members of Chapter 826, "The Detroit Chapter", Detroit, Michigan have fun whenever they are together, especially when they help others in need. At their recent meeting, they worked out details for several upcoming projects including a financial education luncheon for low income girls and their families, and serving soup and sandwiches to the homeless who rely on the Detroit Rescue Mission for assistance. These busy ladies always find creative ways to have a positive impact in their community.
