Woman of Distinction

The Woman of Distinction Award is an honor presented by Woman's Life Insurance Society to recognize a woman within the fraternal benefit system on a national level who, through example and accomplishment, provided outstanding volunteer service to her chapter, society and community during the past year.

Along with the honor of being named as our Society's Woman of Distinction, the winner is featured in Woman's Life Magazine and Woman's Life Insurance Society makes a $250 donation to a charity of her choice.

The winner's nomination material is also forwarded to the National Fraternal Congress of America's Fraternalist of the Year program to be considered for nationwide recognition. The NFCA, which represents 80 member-societies and 10 million individuals throughout North America, considers nominees from each of its member-societies for this annual award.

Linda Deman Named Woman of Distinction 2009

Giving. Enthusiastic. Inspiring. These are just some of the words her chapter members used to describe Linda Deman when they nominated her to be the Woman's Life Woman of Distinction. As a charter member of Chapter 800 in Fort Gratiot, Michigan, Linda currently serves as their treasurer. Linda has been instrumental in every one of the more than 20 projects her chapter has undertaken, and is always looking for people she and her chapter can help.

Linda is a driving force for her chapter's involvement within the community. She was key to the success of Chapter 800's breakfast for a statewide youth boxing organization held earlier this year in Port Huron, where more than 300 young boxers and their coaches were served a great breakfast to kick off their competition.
