Board Chair’s
              Message

What a joy to celebrate Dad’s 101st birthday early this year. He
has enjoyed a lifetime of experiences highlighted by close
family relationships and special times together … and a great
                                                   deal of history.
I have learned so much from my parents, including the importance of
planning for the future and owning permanent life insurance. Dad and
Mom purchased whole life policies on all three of their girls when we were
very young. Learning from their experience and valuing the peace of mind
that comes with knowing your family is protected, we did the same thing
for our children. And now that our children are grown, they are passing
along the same lessons and experience to their own children. Funny how
good decisions can pass down from one generation to the next — and the
                                                   next.
When we asked him to share his secret for living such a long and fulfill-
ing life, Dad’s advice was simple: “Everything in moderation.” As far as
financial advice, he offered: “Keep it simple,” which for him meant staying
out of stocks and purchasing an annuity with Woman’s Life many years

who “kept it simple” and used a Woman’s Life annuity to help fund his re-

When he outlived the mortality table upon which his life policy was based
at age 99, Dad got to decide whether he wanted to take the face value of his
life plan immediately to use during his lifetime, or leave the face value to
accumulate interest until he later decided to accept the life benefit or it was
                                                   eventually paid to his beneficiary.
For him and Mom, it turned out to be a happy addition to their retire-
ment fund as they continue to enjoy life’s adventures.

                                                      				Sincerely,

                                                      				Janice Whipple
