March 25, 2020 | Woman’s Life Insurance Society remains open during Stay-At-Home directive.

I am writing today to reassure you that as an essential financial services organization, Woman’s Life Insurance Society remains open and committed to serving your needs during these uncertain times. We have implemented our business continuity plan, enabling us to maintain all critical operations. These include processing claims, issuing regularly scheduled payments, providing updated account information, and discussing your needs and options in order to help you plan for a secure financial future even during these difficult times.

In accordance with Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-21, and to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we have taken a number of steps to keep our staff members safe and healthy. We have reduced the number of staff members physically present in our Michigan-based Home Office. Staff members who can work remotely are doing so, we have suspended all business-related travel, and we have closed our office to visitors. All workspaces and frequently touched areas in the building are cleaned and disinfected frequently, and we are all practicing social distancing even as we work together to serve our members.

We recognize that the current economic situation may create financial hardships for some of our members affecting their ability to pay their life insurance premiums. If you have been laid off or become unemployed during this time of wide-spread closures, please contact us at 800-521-9292 so we can work with you to ensure your life insurance coverage remains in force.

We appreciate the trust you have placed in us and thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these unprecedented times. While we anticipate higher than usual call volumes, we will return calls and respond to emails as quickly as possible.

Woman’s Life Insurance Society has weathered many difficult times since our founding in 1892 including two world wars, the 1918 flu pandemic, the Great Depression, and many other events that have impacted our nation. Throughout our history, we have been guided by our conservative investment approach. This philosophy means our financial stability is not tied to the unpredictable nature of the stock market. We believe this puts us in a stronger position to navigate through the conditions we face today.
